BEST DOG PARKS
Centennial Parklands
Where: Grand Drive and Parkes Drive, Sydney City
The claim of being one of the most pet friendly park in Sydney is not far off with almost 43 percent open to dog lovers, that’s more than 154 hectares.
Sandstone Ridge and Federation Valley are not to be missed off leash areas, plus your pooch can enjoy a range of on leash walks.
Hawthorne Canal Reserve
Where: Darley Road, Leichhardt
Parklands, sun, fun and yummy treats – yes please! You can find Café Bones at the end of the canal run and it offers safe and organic treats for your furbaby, plus coffee and cake for you too.
Warrigal Run, Bungarribee
Where: Doonside Road, Doonside
The big, fenced park has plenty of dog related extra’s with the fenced area for dogs is off leash and surrounding areas dog friendly with them on the leash
Ideal for young pups to run free in the safety of a fenced area.
Entrance: 200m north of the traffic light at the intersection of Holbeche and Doonside Roads.
Bicentennial Park
Where: Chapman Road, Glebe
West of the canal you will find the park’s off leash dog exercise section and while dogs need to be on the leash in the eastern quarter. The park stretched across Rozelle Bay and boasts plenty of grass spots to sit and large fenced playgrounds for the kids big and small.
Ideal for the whole family to enjoy a picnic and relaxing day in the sun.
Sydney Park
Where: Sydney Park Road, St Peters
It’s not surprising this park is known as being very dog friendly with furbabies welcome at all times. For safety reasons dog are not allowed in the wetlands and barbecue areas.
Combining history, art and the outdoors in the mix of wetlands, ovals and play equipment areas makes for an enlightening and energetic day out.
Dan Mahoney Reserve
Where: 75 Gladstone Street, North Parramatta
Doggie heaven awaits with a 3.3 hectares off leash dog area, surrounded by shady trees and an open oval where you can toss a ball or Frisbee until your hearts content.
Pupperinos are welcome all the time with fun dog activities on the weekend.
Prince Alfred Park
Where: Chalmers Street, Surry Hills
This delightful and surprising inner city patch of greenery is a happy place for dogs to socialise while the park boasts plenty of features.
Dogs are welcome in the central grass and woodland area.
St Ives Showground
Where: 450 Mona Vale Road, St Ives
Ideal for pups in training and is open for pups to play with the fence area ensuring no runaways. In addition, there is a play area for kids and an on leash forest for longer walks.
Dog agility training every Saturday morning; just in case you need a little extra help with training your pet.

BEST DOG BEACHES
Sirius Cove
Where: Sirius Cove Road, Mosman
The beach is off leash all day during the weekday and before 9:00am and after 4:00pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Ideal for older dogs who want to take a dip in a tranquil spot.
Bonna Point Reserve, Silver Beach
Where: Price Charles Parade, Kurnell
Small but plenty of sand to make great runs through the water. Dogs are welcome all day every day but can only be off the leash at Bonna Point Reserve.
Make sure to stay within the marked area, between the third and fourth jetties on Silver Beach.
Greenhills Beach
Where: Green Hills Cronulla, Kurnell
Sydney’s only ocean fronting dog-friendly beach is off-leash before 10am and after 4pm each day. Unfortunately dogs a not allowed on the beach outside those time, even on a leash.
North of Wanda, north of Track 5 entrance off Mitchell Avenue. If going though Wanda Reserve to get to the beach this reserve is on leash.
Rowland Reserve
Where: Pittwater Road, Bayview
This pawesome dog friendly reserve is off-leash and perfect if your dog loves to socialise as it is very popular. With plenty of water, sand and grassy to enjoy you pooch will have a blast making new friends and with lots of like-minded dog owners present you might too.
One hour free parking and worth the drive.
Flora and Richie Roberts Reserve
Where: 79 Carrington Parade, Curl Curl
Off-leash is permitted all day, every day at this locals haunt and your dog will love running through the grass dunes and taking a dive in the calm Curl Curl lagoon. Despite its popularity your pooch there is plenty of room in and out of the water.
Offer drinking area, doggie bags, bins and toilets.

Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen
Where: 74 Rose Street, Chippendale
A unique venue which keep the tradition of having a dog in a pub alive. Queens Park Shed
Where: Queens Park, Darley Road side
A building transformed from the old pavilion building to a shabby chic new eatery with garden tool décor ad reclaimed wooden furniture. A relaxed indoor/outdoor setting, with plenty of outdoors seats for you and your dog, plus a menu which is a cut above the rest it’s the perfect place to unwind after some off-leash fun in Queens Park.
Chew Chew
Where: Shop 3, Railway Walk, Wollstonecraft Station, Wollstonecraft
You might want to have a snack yourself before heading her as Chew Chew catering solely for dogs! Your pupperino will be spoilt with the fine dining organic menu which includes sausage with sauerkraut, bolognaise, chicken risotto and salmon.
The ultimate place to pamper your pooch comes at a price of $9 for a 200g serving and even offers doggie dinners their own miniature table to enjoy their meal.

Marrickville Organic Market
Where: Addison Road Centre in Sydney’s inner west.
These markets blend of traditional and Bohemian stall holders’ are one of the finest pet-friendly markets in Sydney.
Dogs are more than welcome and other pets are encouraged as well. A friendly resident Shetland pony who wanders the markets is the trademark of the event.
Big on food so bring your appetite and a full wallet
