Sitter of the Month for August is AMY!

This month we are highlighting Amy who goes the extra mile for her clients by offering great personalised service.

She actually became a pet sitter by change when helping out a bride in need.

I’ve been with PetCloud for: 1 year
Occupation: Reservations Manager as a serious job and dog trainer as my fun job.
Extra Services I offer on top of pet sitting: Qualified dog trainer offering positive reinforcement training
How do you make owners and their pets feel special?
I think being a qualified dog trainer immediately makes owners feel at ease, knowing their pooch is in safe hands. I always makes contact with my clients and make sure they are completely comfortable leaving their pooch with me – for some owners its can be quite emotional living their loved fur-babies with a stranger.

What do you find rewarding about being a pet sitter?
Meeting so many beautiful furry friends and know that owners don’t need to worry about their dogs whilst they relax and enjoy their holiday.

Live in or visiting Bryon Bay and think Amy sounds like the perfect match for your pet?

What extra services do you offer to increase your income and help out your clients?
I can offer a training package for any owners who feel their pooch might require some extra ‘manners’. I can tailor it to suit the individual needs of the owners and the dog, and provide a programme for them to continue at home.
I’m also a very fit person, so owners can be assured their pooch will get enough exercise doing their stay with me.
As I work in the tourism industry, for no extra charges, I also let clients know what cafes are pet friendly in my local area and where to find the doggy beaches.

Share your top tips for getting your name out there and growing your client base?
– Ask clients to leave you reviews
– Use social media to the best of your advantage
– Be available as much as you can
– Tell potentials WHY they should choose you over someone else – promote your abilities, location and how close you are to dog exercise areas/dog friendly cafes
– Be flexible – work with the client
What’s one piece of advice you would give to budding Pet Sitters out there?
Although being a pet sitter is fun, it comes with a very high level of responsibility. Every pet has its own personality & comes with their own set of needs & requirements. Get as much info as you can from the owner about their pet & what you can do to make their stay with you as seamless & stress free as possible. No 2 jobs will be the same!
